John Keating believes taxpayers, parents, and students deserve a top-notch education system. As a product of public schools, he knows if young people receive a great education today, they will go on to serve their families, community and country tomorrow. They will go to college, they will build businesses, and they will start families of their own. We must get education right. That's why John supports accountability and transparency to ensure your tax dollars fund educational excellence, not education bureaucracy.

John believes parents should have the final say in the education of their children. That's why he supports parents being able to decide what is best for their kids, whether they choose public schools, charter schools, private schools, or home-schooling.

John and Leslie have established The Keating Family Engineering Endowment Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a local female student pursuing a degree in engineering. For his numerous volunteer efforts within his children's PTA, John has also earned the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers Honorary Lifetime Membership Award.
